In How to report a spam email address I commented that it's not always possible to block an email address if it comes via your website host. This happens when the message you get originates from a form on your website.
You cannot clock the email address because the email address comes with the website host's domain name attached. This means that if you block the spammers email address, you will also block all legitimate email from your website host to you.
However, I'm really bored of the repeat spammers who seem to always turn up once your site has got traction and is getting visitors. One of whom has been a particular irritant of late. So I kept thinking about how to reduce spam from real people (i.e. not automated spam) .
I've now devised a method which seems to work for me - using Gmail - for the real-life scammers who email message spam to me via the forms on my website and via my website host's communication system.
This method doesn't mean you won't get spam
However it does mean you will only get ONE MESSAGE ONLY from a real-live spammer and not repeat messages.
WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: SET UP A FILTER:
If you don't use Gmail, see if you can do something similar to create a filter with the email software you use.
