By way of response, a number of people better qualified than me have written articles about the role of the art agent and their relevance to an artist. I decided to compile the best of what's available and develop a guide based on:

There's a lot of regulations you may need to comply with - not least those relating to liability to third parties and the payment of any taxes for running a business from home. If you don't want to be caught out take a look at the page I've started to develop on 'Selling Art from Home'. It's not finished but it's got a lot of the key messages for people thinking about selling from home. Obviously the rules vary depending on where in the world you live.
